Mars, Year 2097. In what was the first human settlement on Mars. The german scientist Hall Clarens investigates alone from the death of his colleague, samples of Martian soil in search of a likely sign of life. While still a year away land to the date of his rescue, he discovers quite by accident, plant remains one of the minerals analyzed while he manipulates with low doses of deionized water. Back at the laboratory of one of his regular trips to the condensers station to provide water, is surprised to see that the proliferation of this plant is unexpectedly excessive, which will prove fatal in the long months before his salvation.
